Maybe it is just the way I ride, but lately it seems that everytime I go for a ride, something gets screwed up. Take today for example, 88 degrees, windy, dry roads, high humidity, typical emphis area spring weather. The poor pathetic little baby bike (it's current name) and I were heading home, nearly gt creamed by a buzzard that came out of a line of trees along the road. Two miles later, maybe three miles, can't remember, a gust of wind blows us into a ditch. Hell, yesterday I almost got run into by an ostrich/emu, I can't tell the difference, anyway, people raise them arouond here, and one was running in the ditch down the side of the road. Jumped out right in front of me. Good thing the back brake still works, the front is so corroded as to be nearly laughable.
Mechanically, I think I should hae skipped the oil change and the new plug. Our local dealer didn't have the right plug, so Lisa bought one range hotter. He said it wouldn't affect it with our high temperature. Between that and the 10W40 synthetic blend, it now runs so hot that my feet are on the passenger pegs unless I'm shifting or stopping. Definitely going back to straight 30 weight oil. Anyone else's dealer that incompetent? Stil can't get the safety switch straightened out. Gonna put a hose clamp on it, or just bypass the entire clutch cut out for the starter. No need for all that junk anyway. If the bike is in gear when you hit the starter without that crap, normally the bike will bump forward. Duh, it's in gear! I wonder how simple I can really get this thing. Going to try to figure out how to mag it and get rid of the charging system too.
Oh well, end of rant for now. Too late to stay up much longer. Catch ya'll later. Ride free, ride hard.
